In short,

The Sun sign is the one that most are familiar with and the one that is most commercialized - when someone asks you “what’s your sign?” - we respond with what is actually our Sun sign. The placement of the Sun is only a portion of who you are. It reveals who you are becoming in this lifetime.

The Moon sign resembles the inner you. Your emotions and habits.

The Ascendant sign, also referred to as the Rising sign, resembles your outer shell. The “mask” you wear in the world. It is how others perceive you when they first meet you.

3. WHERE CAN I FIND MY BIRTH TIME?

If you do not know your birth time, there are a few ways that you may find out. For starters - ask your parents/guardians if they made record of the time in a keepsake book, or if they kept the little paper document that is placed next to newborns at the hospital.

If that fails (as it did for us), you can contact the hospital where you were born and they may have it on file. In Canada and the U.S., they do not include the time on your take-home birth certificate, but they do record it on the "full version". The full version is kept in hospital records. 

We both did not know our exact birth times when we started out. Our mom's had an idea of the time, but of course we can't always go by memory because let's just say both of our mom's were "a little" off... the timing is very important for the entire alignment of the chart, however especially for the rising sign as it changes approximately every 2 hours.

We did some research and eventually learned that you can access your hospital records by calling into Health Information Services. After signing a consent form, they were able to provide us with our birth time.

Side note: we were also made aware that the hospitals, at least in Ontario, have digital records of all birth details dating back about 27 years, meaning it is easily retrieved. Everything beyond that was written by hand and the records are in storage - we are unsure if this can still be accessed but it is definitely worth a shot!

Lastly, if you've tried everything and cannot find your exact time of birth and decide to move forward with a tentative time (the time your mom thinks you were born around), then please note that this may affect the accuracy of your placements.  

4. WHAT IF I CAN'T FIND MY BIRTH TIME?

If you cannot find your birth time, don't be discouraged. Firstly, did you try all the above steps?

If you've tried everything and still cannot locate your birth time then we are here to help. 

Step 1 - Follow the steps to purchasing a birth chart on our home page.

Step 2 - Fill out the appropriate information that you do know and where it asks for your time of birth, state "unknown." 

Step 3 - You will receive an email from us with further instructions and we will assist you to figure out what your Ascendant/Rising sign may be.

5. WHAT IF I FIND OUT MY EXACT BIRTH TIME AFTER I ALREADY PLACED AN ORDER?

Hey, miracles can happen. We both went to see an Astrologer with our "my mom said I was born at this time" birth times. We later found our exact times and went to see her a second time as our charts had totally changed. So, we get it. We feel for you and we want to help you out.

a. If this does occur shortly after placing an order (let's say up to 2 days after) then send us an email right away and if we haven't already sent your order in to print - then no problem, we can adjust the chart for you.

b. If you purchased a print from us two weeks, two months or even two years ago and now found out your exact birth time and want to order a print with the correct info... then please email us at info.thesunandhermoon@gmail.com with proof of purchase and we can offer you a discount towards purchasing a new print.

6. WHAT IF I RECEIVE MY PRINT AND SOME INFORMATION IS WRONG?

If you receive your print from us and any information is wrong, here's what can happen...

a. If you sent in all the correct info and spelling and we made a typo (it happens, we're human) sincerest apologies, we will gladly send you a replacement or refund.

b. If you made a typo, unfortunately we cannot refund you, but we can offer you a discount if you would like to re-order the print. Send us an email at info.thesunandhermoon@gmail.com

7. WHAT DOES TROPICAL ZODIAC MEAN?
